"Symbols are nothing but the natural speech of drama."
- Tennessee Williams, playwright
Theatre is a canvas for deeper meaning. By working together, students explore how symbols, gestures, and visuals can communicate complex ideas, fostering creativity and collaboration. Through shared storytelling, they learn to celebrate diverse perspectives and unlock the power of collective imagination to bring stories to life.
In this 10-week class, students will delve into the art of creating symbolism on stage under the guidance of Mr. Kyle and Mr. Matt. Through weekly ensemble games, character exploration, and storytelling exercises, students will learn to use props, gestures, and visuals to create deeper meaning in their performances. Alongside these symbolic techniques, the class will reinforce theatre fundamentals like blocking, projection, energy, and active listening.
This creative journey will culminate in a final performance where students showcase their growth and collaborative work.
*There will be a final performance held on Saturday, March 22nd*
Saturdays @ 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM (1/25 - 3/29)
